Wellness Wednesday: Mental Health Check-In with Handout & Video

The following content was provided by Advocate Aurora Health.

May & Mental Health Awareness Month

May is National Health Awareness Month. Now more than ever, it is important to shine a light on the fact that countless individuals in our community and in our workplaces are living with mental health concerns. Many are doing so silently. The goal of spotlighting this issue is to break through the stigma and start a conversation. We need to make it okay for those who might be struggling to know it’s okay to talk about it and it’s okay to ask for help.

Watch for Burnout & Starting Conversations Around Balance

Over the past couple of years, more and more people have left their jobs for the sake of their mental health. Those who have stayed while still struggling are showing signs of burn out: less engaged, more distracted, calling in sick more often, etc. The stress is real. Employers and employees alike are struggling to find the elusive work/life balance. In the meantime, everyone is struggling, and they are doing so silently. It’s time to start a conversation.
